About Us

It all started in the late 80s...

A group of artists, musicians, and poets got together and started an artists' co-op on Chimes Street in Baton Rouge. "Combined Effort" was just off the LSU campus, and we had a gallery/shop in the front room. We started making some tie-dyes just for fun and selling them in the shop to help make rent. They sold so well that we just kept making them!

At the time, there were a lot of people around wearing some really beautfiul tie-dyed shirts, and we just couldn't figure out why ours were not coming out like theirs. So we went to libraries and got books on tie-dye and got advice from others experienced in the art. From what we learned, we were able to start experimenting more successfully, and through years of further experimentation, research, and trial and error we learned our craft.

Around 1990, we started going to the New Orleans French Market on the weekends. The tie-dyes sold very well and soon we quit our jobs to work the market and other art shows full time.  It was then that we became interested in learning more about the creation of the designs and the color combinations that we were working with. We listened to customer requests and comments about what they liked, and it's become a staple of our work to combine customer satisfaction with research and experience to make the best possible tie-dyes. And now, in keeping with the tradition of customer satisfaction, we have expanded to the internet.

What We Do

Every product we sell is crafted by our hands, from 100% natural fabric and the brightest, longest-lasting dye available.

We do most articles of clothing (shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, etc) including baby clothes and onsies and even do some novelty items like Wall-Hangings and Accessories.

Our designs are limited only by your imagination and how many times it's humanly possible to tie, fold, pleat, wrinkle, and otherwise artfully mutilate fabric.
